Brother Bear’s Story: A Journey of Awakening
William "Brother Bear" Koroskenyi has long felt the presence of something greater guiding him through life. From early childhood visions to a profound awakening in a Lakota sweat lodge in 2012, his path has been marked by spiritual insight, devotion, and a deep calling to work with nature’s intelligence.
A Call to the Sacred Path
In 2013, during a retreat in Peru, Brother Bear experienced a vision that changed his life—a message of love, destiny, and spiritual purpose. This led him to surrender his former life and move to the Amazon Rainforest, answering a call he could not deny.
There, he entered an immersive apprenticeship under renowned healer Adela Navas. Through extended isolation, traditional plant dietas, and ceremony, he was trained in the sacred healing arts and later recognized as a Maestro Curandero.
A Bridge Between Worlds
Brother Bear’s connection to music, rhythm, and sound has always been central to his work. Over time, sacred songs—icaros—began to come to him through dreams and meditation. These were not compositions, but transmissions. Vibrations. Gifts from the unseen.
Each icaro carries intention, frequency, and the wisdom of the elements and the Earth. Through sound, Brother Bear learned to listen more deeply—to the plants, to spirit, and to his own divine essence.
A Vision for the Future
In 2014, he and his wife Pamela founded The Avatar Centre, a healing sanctuary in the Peruvian Amazon. Years later, they expanded their mission with Avatar Apothecary—bringing sacred plant allies to people around the world in a responsible, reverent way.
Brother Bear’s work is rooted in reciprocity, integrity, and the belief that plant-based spiritual practices can awaken the remembrance of our wholeness. He does not see plants as a cure, but as wise allies that guide us inward, toward our deepest knowing.
In Devotion to the Sacred
Brother Bear continues to serve as a guide, mentor, and ceremonialist, supporting others on their paths of awakening. His teachings honor traditional lineages while offering modern seekers a way to reconnect with the sacred within themselves and the Earth.
“The plants do not heal us. They help us remember that we were never broken.”
